Gem Stones Colour

A common misinterpretation is that the darker the gem the more valuable. If a gem is too dark it simply looks subdued and lifeless. A good rule is that the brighter, richer and more vivid the better. There are ideal colours for gems, but muddy, muted patchy colours are generally less expensive and not as desirable.
