Diamond

Diamonds are the most cherished and highly valued gemstone. It is the hardest mineral known to man, it is hardness 10 on the Moh's scales, a non-linear scale from 1 to 10. The difference between 1 and 9 is less than the difference between 9 and 10. Diamond is a pure crystalline carbon. The number and length of the bonds make it very durable. This durability makes it ideal as a stone in and engagement ring. The value of a diamond is based on the 4 C's. Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat.
