18ct gold

Pure gold is known as 24ct, we use 18ct gold which is 18 parts or 25% pure gold. The remaining 25% is made up of various other metals. The metal added will dictate the colour and properties of the final 18ct gold. Pure gold is a very bright yellow colour. 18ct rose or red gold contains copper which gives it its pinky tinge. 18ct gold contains a high percentage of pure gold which is yellow, adding other metals will tinge as oppose to completely change the colour. 18ct rose or red gold contains copper which gives it its pinky tinge. 18ct white gold is not as white as silver or platinum, it is a warm whitish colour. It is very common to rhodium plate white gold to give it a really crisp white appearance. We do not plate any of our jewellery.
